cock c' nell - boys tree

2025 reissue of a 1986 mini lp. close to a perfect record. participants from the a-musik/pungo axis, from the butoh group dairakudakan, and including tori kudo. much less wild than that suggests, including an upfront, somewhat confessional and charismatic new wave female vocal style. there is also a mid 80s art rock sheen here that reminds me of tears for fears or something, and i suppose this is that avant garde crew trying their hand at such a thing. overall i think it's familiar but i can't place it. i can't describe why it's great, but i am keeping a copy of the cd for myself.
