hector zazou's garden of delights, surreal jazz, theatrical africanisms, and time-arresting operatic vocals (with over twenty musicians, including ray lema, contributing parts), journeying, sort of erotic, and again, yes, taking place in a darkened theatrical world of shadows, where the lighting is only on the stage and it shifts with every vignette and aside. unfortunately, as with many copies, the photo novel is missing here, but i think a flicker of imagination is all it takes, considering how verdant and asymmetrical the music is.
