irène schweizer / rüdiger carl - the very centre of middle europe

duo recording of two heavyweights from the early waves of european free improvisation, with schweizer on drums and piano and carl on clarinet, bass clarinet, tenor saxophone, concertina, and water-pipe. carl adds some absolutely wild punctuations amid an overall rustling, sketchy backdrop. schweizer is better known as a pianist, but her drumming here is excellent too, especially on "liebe jazz & übermut" with carl on concertina!
