private folk record coming from an agricultural high school in bordeaux, led by alain balembois, likely one of the teachers, whose voice is (presumably) heard throughout the record on a number of mainly traditional tunes. appearing with him are a small band of students, contributing guitar, fiddle, flute, accordion, and psaltery. a large chorus of their classmates pops up here and there as backing vocalists. the results are less shambolic/naïve than a large segment of school records; on the contrary, this is a medieval/communalist folk record with a particularly heartening agrarian interest that i think we ought to all get down with on some level.
