montego joe - wild & warm

solid play copy of this rarity by montego joe, jamaican percussionist/drummer with art blakey, ted curson, and max roach, among many, many others. one more on that list is milford graves, who appears here! it's nothing as free as his name would suggest, but there is plenty of latin-esque jazz on offer here, alternately slinky, swinging, and peppy, with a touch of silly rock & soul on "ouch". there are some percussive moments that remind you who you're listening to - namely the spiritual, searching "ewe".

condition: g+/vg, with a few feelable marks, plays without skipping and without too much surface noise either. scratch on front cover, and age toning, small stain (cigarette burn?), stamp, and name in pen on back cover.
