pete namlook - the definitive ambient collection (volume 2)

2x12" compilation of some of pete namlook's greatest hits, circa 1994, taking in material from aliases like sequential, dreamfish, air, and silence (the incredible "garden of dreams" takes up the entire b side), among others. words fail when it comes to such a legendary name, but i might take a stab and say namlook's work resonates as touching some kind of shiver-inducingly universal, deep space feeling, similar to the one i get when i read the wikipedia article entitled "timeline of the far future", my personal book of the year, 2025. i may also restate this if i'm selling/need to describe anything by mirror. anyway, this compilation is by no means "definitive" (ha ha) - but it is certainly essential, capturing the pinnacle of the chill out room era. check out this ridiculous comment from the youtube link:
