“19” - ninety seven circles

part of a series of extremely well-promoted (within japan, anyway) 19/juke reissues from a few years back - which at one point seemed to be on display from the tiniest niche hole in the wall to the tower records in that shinjuku mall, and even making its way back to los angeles in the form of a t-shirt owned by someone who i would not associate with this kind of music at all, no offense - and one of three currently in stock in this store. 

i tend to describe 19/juke (here as "19") as a no wave project, even though it veers into straight up noise at times, and here is where that term makes the most sense. this is a set of feral, wailing, overdriven "punk" miniatures and zonked sampling techniques - a must if you like harry pussy, mars, etc.
